World Creation Rules: Creating Worlds for Rondaks is very simple. You can use any RPG format there are dozens to choose from; AD&D, Champions, Traveler, White Wolf, the Portal is open to you. You can always choose other and create or use your own Rule Set. After all it is your world! Click on the World Builder button from the Citizen Options. Creating a world is fun and exciting - you get to test your imaginiation fully. It can be very time consuming though - especially is you include lots of interesting scenarios, Non-Player Characters (NPCs) for the players to interact with. Maps are a good thing to include too, players love to see maps or building layouts - it gives them a much better idea of what is going on around them. The options you need to enter to submit a world for creation are; Campaign Name: This is the name
you want the campaign known by it will appear in the Available Worlds
under the Rules Type you select, in your referee World list and in the
players Campaign list. You want the name to be descriptive, but not too
long that it is annoying.
Campaign Image: If you have a banner or campaign image type the URL of the file if you do not have a place (or one of your friends) where you can load image files onto the Internet you cannot use this option you must have an Internet address of the picture file (URL http://www.toastr.com/images/cityofthedead.jpg or whatever) If you create an image make sure you put the campaign name in the image so that people can find it. This image file will replace the Campaign Name as shown in the Available Wolrds list - it displays the name unless you use an image, in which case the image replaces the name (only in the Available Worlds list - in the Adventurer Options or Referee Option the name will be shown.) Rules Type: What rules will you be using pick the one that closely matches the system of rules you are using or pick other if it is not in the list. Even if you have modified a system for your own use you should pick the rules that you based them on so that players will know what to expect. Campaign Setting: Is this a module or a pre-made world? A world from a book or movie? Something you created on your own? Whatever the setting is for your campaign you can let potential players know by telling them here Dragonlance? Greyhawk? Cthulu? Number of Adventurers: How many players do you want in the game? You can only accept as many as you input here. You can change this at any time if you wish to accept more or less later on. How many player interactions can you handle? It is up to you. Rate of Moves: How many times per week do you expect people to post in the game? Every day, once a week? Whatever it is be clear up front and then stick to your schedule. Characters Required: Are you providing characters for the players or do they have to create their own. The choice is yours. If you check this box the player(s) must create a character for the Rules Type you specify and apply to the game from the Available Worlds list using that character. Lurkers Allowed: Lurking is being able to watch a game but not interact with the players. It is a great way for potential players to get to know a Referees style. The lurkers can see all the posts (except private ones) and this is often the best way to obtain a replacement for a character who drops out of the game. A lurker is familiar with game and the characters and can be an ideal replacement. If you check this box you allow people to Lurk in your game and watch the campaign unfold. Chat Room Type: You have a private chat room in the campaign that only the players and you can access. There are options for Voice Chat or RP Chat. There are many restrictions to using the voice chat you get no chat log you cannot post images or whisper you must be using a Windows based PC and have the right browser and plug in. RP Chat is just like the Portal Chat Room. It also has the advantage that you as the Ref can post as any character NPCs and Players. Adventurer's Description: Here is where you hook players. By creating an interesting World Description you can get more and better players to apply to your campaign. A one-paragraph description will not attract a lot of players. Make it interesting. Describe the setting the world itself the rules you think are key and most importantly what kind of player/character you are looking for. Do you have specific rules about character creation? Players want to be part of a rich world filled with adventure it is up to you to provide one and here is where you get to show off your stuff. Full Description: Only Rondak (or his chosen) can read the full description. Information about your world that you do not want the players to see can be put in here. When you are ready click the Create World button your world will be submitted for approval by Rondak you will be notified in the Message System when (and if) your world is approved. You can modify the world using the World Builder at any time, even while it is pending approval.
